Rules for Success in This Course
1. Learn the basics before using AI
Do not rely on ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, or other AI tools to complete the challenges.
If you cannot do a task yourself, AI will not help you learn it.
Today we build the foundation. AI becomes useful only after the foundation is in place.
If ChatGPT writes your document today, you may pass today's task. If you learn how to create the document yourself, you will pass the next three years.
2. Do not look for shortcuts
The goal is not to finish first.
The goal is to understand:
how documents work;
how spreadsheets work;
how presentations work;
how data is organized.
Shortcuts today often create bigger problems later.
3. Make mistakes
Mistakes are expected.
Experiment.
Ask questions.
Learning happens when something does not work and you find out why.
4. Complete every challenge yourself
Watching somebody else solve the task is not learning.
The only way to build digital skills is through practice.
5. Build skills for future courses
The skills learned in this course will be needed later for:
Research Methods in Sport
Thesis preparation
Presentations
Data analysis
Coaching practice
Every challenge is an investment in your future studies.
6. Ask for help early
If you are stuck for more than 3 minutes:
✋ Raise your hand.
Do not spend 20 minutes being frustrated.
7. Progress is more important than perfection
Nobody expects you to be an expert today.
The goal is to leave this course more capable than when you entered it.
Digital Skills Are Like Training
You cannot build fitness by watching somebody exercise.
You cannot build digital skills by watching somebody click.
You learn by doing.
